AA
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an international community of alcoholics who meet in groups. The primary purpose of A.A. members is to stay sober and help other alcoholics do the same. A.A. was the first twelve-step program and was the source and has been the model for all similar recovery groups. A.A. teaches that to recover an alcoholic must abstain completely from alcohol.
